Kinfolk Community Partners · Atlanta

No one should face aging alone.

We're an Atlanta nonprofit bringing older adults, veterans, and family caregivers together in community, because everyone deserves to be treated like kin.

Who we are

Where everyone is family.

Kinfolk Community Partners is a nonprofit organization serving older adults, retired veterans, adults with mild disabilities, and the families who care for them across metro Atlanta.

We believe that connection is care. When older neighbors have a place to belong, they stay healthier and happier. When caregivers have support, families stay strong. And when a community looks after its elders, everyone is better for it.

Our mission

Kinfolk Community Partners gives older adults, retired veterans, and adults with mild disabilities a safe, joyful place to belong, and gives their caregivers the rest, resources, and peace of mind they need.

Our vision

A community where no older adult is isolated and no caregiver carries the load alone.

Our story

A place that felt like family.

Kinfolk Community Partners began with something our founder saw again and again: families stretched thin. Adult children caring for aging parents while working full time. Spouses caring for veterans who once served all of us. Older neighbors spending long, quiet days at home with no one to talk to.

Ayonna Deans spent years in property management, getting to know families in their homes and seeing these struggles up close. She knew our community needed more than services. It needed a place that felt like family. So she brought together neighbors, caregivers, and community leaders to build one.

The word ‘kinfolk’ says it all. In the South, your kinfolk are the people who show up for you. That's who we want to be for every older adult, veteran, and caregiver we serve.

What we do

Care that brings people together.

Everything we do comes back to one idea: people do better when they're surrounded by people who care. Our four programs work together to support older adults, veterans, and the families who love them.

All About Kinfolk Adult Day Center

Our flagship program: daytime care that feels like family.

Our adult day center offers older adults, retired veterans, and adults with mild disabilities a safe, welcoming place to spend the weekday. Participants enjoy meals, music, activities, and friendship with trained staff nearby, while their families work or rest knowing their loved one is in good hands.

02 · Kinfolk Veterans Circle

For those who served, among those who understand.

The Veterans Circle brings veterans together for fellowship, storytelling, and support. We host coffee hours, oral history projects, and Veterans Day and Memorial Day celebrations, and we help veterans connect with the benefits they've earned.

03 · Caregiver Circle

Because the caregiver needs care, too.

Caring for someone you love is a gift, and it's also hard work. Our Caregiver Circle offers free support groups, practical workshops on care planning and benefits, and a place to find answers and encouragement.

04 · Kinfolk Connects

Reaching neighbors who are home alone.

Not everyone can come to us, so we go to them. Our staff and volunteers make friendly phone calls, visit homes, and host community events with churches, senior centers, and veterans organizations across metro Atlanta.

Why it matters

Connection changes everything.

Metro Atlanta is growing older, and too many of our elders are growing lonely.

Loneliness isn't just sad. Research links social isolation to poorer health, and it takes a toll on the families trying to fill the gap. Many caregivers juggle full-time jobs, children of their own, and the needs of an aging parent, often with little help.

The difference community makes

  • Older adults and veterans who feel connected, valued, and engaged.
  • Caregivers who can keep their jobs, protect their health, and get some rest.
  • Families who can keep loved ones at home longer.
  • A community that looks after its elders like kin.
